Dare to Feel Happy Now!

On Saturday January 29th, Missoula Businesswomen’s Network will host their annual MBN Busineswomen’s Symposium. I’m especially looking forward to this year’s event for a couple of reasons. I was privileged to meet and hear featured speaker Nan Gardetto last year when she presented her keynote speech at the 2010 Women in Business Conference held at Big Sky Resort last June. Just days before Nan was scheduled to fly to Montana, tornado warnings sounded. Determined to keep her commitment, Nan grabbed her conference clothes, airline ticket and speech notes before taking cover in her tornado shelter. Nan’s house survived without harm, but the tornado severely damaged her property. Still Nan traveled to Montana to present her talk and delayed cleaning-up the damage left behind by the storm until after she returned home.

It was surprising to notice how many parallels existed between the keynote message that Nan delivered and the talk that I presented, “Lessons in the Art of Recovery.”  While Nan’s success story related to business, it also included personal adversity.  My success story related the strategies and mindsets I used to overcome my personal adversity of a brain injury and how I applied those strategies again to build my speaker business.

The workshop I will be presenting this coming weekend is titled, “Make a Change and Dare to Feel Happy Now.”  Learn insider tips and strategies you can use to feel happy every day, even when your kids won’t listen, your husband/partner won’t help, you messed up at work, your money won’t stretch, and you swear someone shrank all of your clothes.

Another reason I’m looking forward to Saturday is that my daughter Cassy is spending the day with me, selling my humor cds and light-up magic wands at my first vendor exhibit. We are looking forward to spending the day together after I present my talk in the morning session from 9 a.m. to 9:50 a.m.

If you like events that provide opportunities for personal and professional growth or just want a fun-filled day spent with 400 women from Missoula and surrounding areas, please join us. Tickets are going fast.
